The exchange of gifts in the Queenship of the Realisation of Mary (DQM)

If it were without the solid and firm foundation, Fr. Carlo della Torre, Father and Founder,  the Daughter of the Queenship of Mary (DQM) would be a small and feeble seed, and deemed to face her own extinction sooner or later. It is Fr. Carlo della Torre who has brought the Institute back to where it belongs: the Salesian Family, though with a long journey and not without difficulties and hardships.

Being a part of the Salesian Family,  the DQM has grown both in number and spirit, and above all, in her particular way of a consecrated life, which has never been clearer as ever before.

The Institute’s mission is “To spread the Kingdom of God through prayer and work under the guidance of Mary, our Mother.” Its form is that of a secular Institute whose members live out their consecration as lay women, in small communities or families.

As a result, the Institute is able to withstand in her unique charism and spirituality, a common heritage of the Salesian Family that has been transmitted to us by Fr. Carlo with his own life.  This makes the charismatic lifestyle of the Institute more evident both in the local and universal Church.

We realize that the charism of the DQM is God’s gratuitous Gift for the good of the Church and her mission,  as it aims to promote humanity, provides education and training for youth and the poor.  It is for the proclamation of the good news of God’s love and mercy, as well as a vocational support to member-sisters of the Institute and thus foster a strong family spirit that is full of faith and hope.

In the history of the DQM, if it had not been part of the Salesian family, it would be rather  impossible to be deep-rooted in the Salesian spirit.  Loyalty to the charism that Father Carlo had entrusted upon us might be jeopardized, and consequently put us into the state of infidelity to the original charism granted to us.

With gratitude for the loving mercy of God who nourishes us to grow and develop concretely, we intend to live this charism for the salvation of souls and the accomplishment of the mission that has been entrusted to us through the Institute and in the Salesian family.
